About Us

About us

oncampusuk was formed in early 2001, to meet the specific need for the development of tailor-made content management systems for use by Student Unions in the UK and Ireland.

An opportunity existed, despite other entries into the market, because of our philosophy of close affiliation with unions rather than imposing inappropriate business structures on them.

Development of the first version of the Conqueror© software was completed and tested in July, 2001. Several upgrades have subsequently been introduced to improve flexibility and ease of use. There has not been one minute of downtime.

oncampusuk has an experienced management team:

John D. Dux – Executive Chairman

A well-known and highly respected media executive Dux, 52, began his career in his native Australia, progressing from the ranks of reporter to Managing Director of News International Newspapers in London and appointment to the boards of News International Plc and other group companies.

Earlier he had been Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor of the South China Morning Post group in Hong Kong. He left in 1995, pursuing other publishing interests and consulting on European media acquisitions. In early 1998 he was appointed Chief Executive of the top-ten regional newspaper publisher, NEWSCOM.

Following a major re-organisation the company enjoyed record profits before a decision in 2000 to accept a £444 million offer from Gannett, the US media company.
